To be honest, I am SO relieved that you all found this as hard to read as I did. I am shocked that this is listed in Appendix N (in Moldvay’s B62 List). I also notice that Pratt’s Wikipedia page lists this and The Blue Star as some of his most well received work.
Strix does a great job of discussing liminal space, and I get that. I think it resembles Hoi’s idea of “letting prose wash over you” (mentioned in relation to Vance and Dunsany in particular). But, man, this was HARD to follow. And it’s one of the longest books read in the project so far! (Tolkien might be longer?)
