A minor point of correction: “Pellucidar” was written in 1914/15, a couple of years after “At the Earth’s Core”. The next book in the series “Tanar of Pellucidar” was written 13 years later, by which time Burroughs had achieved a fair measure of success.
The stories appeared in the pulps, first. The books were published in 1922, 1923, and 1930, respectively.
